Mary Ann McFarland is an Area Coordinator for Virginia Cooperative Extension’s (VCE) Family Nutrition Program (FNP). She has been working for VCE since 1996. Prior to that, Mary Ann worked with Virginia Department of Health as a Public Health Nutritionist and a Unit Nutritionist in Dining Services at Virginia Tech.

Mary Ann is a Registered Dietitian and completed her Masters in Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise at Virginia Tech. Presently she is Co-Leader for the Additional School Food Initiatives Content Group for the Healthy Foods for Schools Community. In her current position, Mary Ann supervises and leads 16 Paraprofessionals in Southwest, Virginia. This team educates limited resources youth and families to improve nutrition practices, manage food resources, and food safety. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program-Education (SNAP-Ed) and Expanded Food Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) funds the Family Nutrition Program.  Contact Mary Ann at if desired.
