Sharon Lezberg Biography

Sharon Lezberg works on community food systems and food security.She provides research, planning, and evaluation support to community based food systems/food security organizations. Sharon is an Associate Scientist at the Environmental Resources Center at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her work brings together research, outreach, and community engagement. Currently, she is serving as the outreach coordinator for an AFRI-NIFA grant on Community and Regional Food Systems ( and as the co-coordinator of the Community, Local, and Regional Food Systems eXtension Community of Practice. She holds a BA in Anthropology from the University of Michigan, an MA in International Development and Social Change from Clark University, and a PhD in Environment and Resources from the Nelson Institute of Environmental Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
