Natalie Tauzin RD, MPH has 25 years of experience in public health, worksite wellness, early child development and food insecurity. She works with leaders from nonprofit agencies, universities, hospitals, schools, community hunger coalitions and government institutions on nutrition and health issues on a local and state level.

Using proven effective practices and current research from leaders in multiple fields of study, she provides technical consultation to agency leaders to educate and develop skills on environmental changes, systems approaches and policy development and implementation to increase access to healthy food in our community.

Natalie’s current areas of focus at the Spokane Regional Health District Health Promotion/Healthy Communities division include:

  1. Working with restaurants and worksites to provide more healthy eating opportunities including lower sodium options
  2. Creating a food policy council in Spokane
  3. Training school and worksite cafeteria managers on  Cornell University’s behavioral economics research to increase consumption of healthy foods by students and employees
  4. Teaching childcare cooks and directors how to cook whole foods and developing operational practices and policies in childcare facilities to support this work.
