Gregory is an Extension educator in poultry for Penn State University Extension. His areas of expertise are in poultry production and management, mortality composting, emergency preparedness, veterinary IPM, and animal welfare. He works with all major poultry production species, and has experience in both large and small scale meat and egg production and processing.
Gregory earned his B.S. in Poultry Industry from Cal Poly - San Luis Obispo, Calif. He later earned an MBA from the same institution, and then earned a Ph.D. in Poultry Science from Texas A&M University in College Station. Dr. Martin has lectured in poultry science at three universities and continues to support youth poultry activities in poultry for the 4H and FFA programs.
Gregory has commercial poultry experience working in the broiler, layer and turkey industries. He is a registered professional animal scientist (PAS) and certified animal welfare auditor in poultry.
Dr. Martin's research interests are in environmental impacts in poultry, pest control, and computer applications in agriculture. Gregory serves in more than one eXtension community of practice and is a representative on the Penn State institutional team for eXtension.
