U.S. Seasonal Drought Outlook

Agricultural Disaster Preparedness and Recovery May 06, 2013 Print Friendly and PDF

The U.S. Seasonal Drought Outlook, a product of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA),  is based on short-, medium-, and long-range forecasts, initial conditions and climatology. Focused on a period of the next few months, the drought outlook shows areas that demonstrate signs of improvement, intensification, or persisting drought conditions.  In reviewing the drought forecast for your area, simply match the color pattern indicated in the map key to your area of concern.  The U.S. seasonal drought outlook is updated on a bi-weekly basis on Thursday.
