Looking Ahead to the February Webcast

A year after the Chesapeake Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL), or "pollution diet", was finalized by EPA, we are going to follow up our previous TMDL webcast with an update on the progress made toward implementing the TMDL. February 17, 2012 at 2:30 pm (eastern). A flyer will be posted at Upcoming Webcasts as soon as it is available.

Wet Scrubbers, Dust Video, Best Guess

Wet Scrubbers Curriculum. A fact sheet on Wet Scrubbers for Mechanically Ventilated Facilities is now available. This and the other materials on the page were developed by the Air Quality Education in Animal Agriculture project which is publishing curriculum materials for classroom and extension educators. Dust video. Check out a newly published video "Dust from Cattle Feedyards: A Case Study from Texas". The video was produced by Dr. Ron Sheffield, Louisiana State University AgCenter as part of the LPELC air quality team.

New Oklahoma Publications. A new fact sheet, as well as a new newsletter, have been added to the Oklahoma State University Poultry Waste Management website. The new fact sheet is "Poultry Litter Nutrient Management: A Guide for Producers and Applicators" More...

Journal GHG Edition. The Journal "Animal Science Feed and Technology" published a special issue in which the articles were summaries of presentations from the Greenhouse Gases (GHG) in Animal Agriculture Conference in Banff (Alberta, Canada) in October of 2010. Digestate Utilization. A January, 2012 article in Biocycle magazine examines "Digestate Utilization in the US". While most products from anaerobic digestion are recycled on farms as fertilizer or bedding, there is a growing market for these products elsewhere. More...

ASABE Blue Ribbon Competition. This competition recognizes outstanding extension educational aids, The entry deadline is January 21, 2012.  The selected Blue Ribbon winning entry authors will be recognized during an awards program at the ASABE Annual International Meeting to be held in Dallas, TX, July 29 – August 1, 2012.
