What is the best way to control fireweed (Senecio madagascariensis) in my pastures?

Invasive Species October 03, 2014 Print Friendly and PDF

A number of techniques utilizing herbicides, mechanical measures, and/or grazing can control fireweed in your pastures. Some techniques are not economical over large areas and are better suited to high-density populations of limited size. Others are less efficient but also less costly and are better utilized over large areas. Refer to University of Hawaii Cooperative Extension publication Fireweed Control: An Adaptive Management Approach for more information.
