Grapes native to North America. Include mustang grapes (Vitis mustangensis), muscadines and Scuppernongs (V. rotundifolia), fox grapes and Concords (V. labrusca), and riverbank or frost grapes (V. riparia), among others. American grapes are resistant to the phylloxera root louse.
