Dairy Drought Resources

Dairy, Agricultural Disaster Preparedness and Recovery, Drought Resources November 09, 2016 Print Friendly and PDF

Weather creates its share of challenges for dairying. Drought conditions can lead to short- and long-term effects in our production systems by impacting the forage portion of the ration. The resources compiled by DAIReXNET can help you identify and address the consequences of drought such as reduced pasture dry matter production, reduced forage inventories, poor fermentation of silage cut too dry, and the creation of toxic metabolites and silo gases.
