Will my electric or gas utility company provide me with trees for my property?

Trees for Energy Conservation April 27, 2016 Print Friendly and PDF

Your local gas or electric company may provide you with trees you can plant on your property. This is done to encourage the right kind of trees being planted in the right kinds of places, to reduce peak energy demand, as well as the desire by the company to be socially responsible. There are several other groups and agencies that may also provide trees for your property at reduced costs or even free. Contact your state forestry agency, local extension office, city arborist or other community environmental group in your area to learn if this support exists locally.
