Ashley Newhall specializes in agricultural law and its effects on agriculture producers. Prior to becoming a Legal Specialist with the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics, Ashley worked at a boutique law firm specializing in insurance defense and provided research assistance for an agricultural and environmental law practice based in Fort Worth, Texas. Ashley’s main research focused on the Clean Water Act and the permitting systems enforced by individual states upon agricultural operations. Ashley is a graduate of Arizona State University with a B.S. in Business Finance, the Texas Tech University School Law with a Juris Doctorate with a certificate in Science, Engineering and Technology Law, and the University of Arkansas with an LL.M. in Agricultural and Food Law. Ashley is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, the New Jersey Bar Association and the American Agricultural Law Association.
