Madeline Schultz joined the Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Value Added Agriculture Program in 2003. Extension provides practical education you can trust to help people, businesses and communities solve problems, develop skills, and build a better future. Madeline provides practical  Her agricultural business development activities include cooperative development, business planning, risk management, market analysis and group facilitation. She is Co-Director of the Annie’s National Network Initiative for Educational Success where she helps educators in 36 states offer Annie’s Project, www.extension.iastate. edu/annie, and other farm and ranch business management education programs designed for women.  Madeline co-founded the Cooperatives Community of Practice on www.extension.org in 2010 and co-founded the Women in Agriculture National Learning Network on www.eXtension.org in 2014. Madeline contributes to the national Agricultural Marketing Resource Center Web site, www.agmrc.org, a virtual library for value-added agriculture. She designs educational programs from one-hour workshops for local farmers to two week intensive training programs for international learners. Most recently, she led the development of the Managing for Today and Tomorrow farm transition planning curricula for women. Madeline is a family farmer who has personally experienced business start-ups and farm family transitions. The National Association of County Agricultural Agents selected Annie’s Project as a recipient of the Search for Excellence in Farm and Ranch Financial Management award in 2014. The Agricultural and Applied Economics Association (AAEA) awarded Annie’s Project with the Distinguished Extension/Outreach Program Group Award in 2012. After farming 20 years and raising five children all passionate about agriculture, Madeline earned Bachelor of Science degrees in Agribusiness and Economics in 2003 and the Master of Business Administration degree with an interest in Sustainable Agriculture in 2007 from Iowa State University.
