Bovine Respiratory Disease Factsheets

Beef Cattle January 27, 2014 Print Friendly and PDF

Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) is a leading cause of death in North American beef cattle.  This series of fact sheets provides a resource for beef cattle producers to learn about the different risk factors that  might contribute towards an increased incidence of BRD.  Topics range from management of the pregnant cow though preconditioning and transportation to the feedlot.  Topics include cow and calf management, cattle handling, vaccination, economics and biosecurity, among others.  Support for this resource was provided by a grant from the Western Center for Risk Management Education at Washington State University and  Agriculture and Food Research Initiative Competitive Grant no 2011-68004-30367 from the USDA National Institute of Food and Agriculture.
