Dr. Marietta Orlowski is an associate professor at Wright State University in the Master of Public Health Program. Marietta has spent her career as a professional health educator: she began as a health educator working in a multi-specialty care practice, progressed to directing community health education for a regional health system, and now works in academia serving on teams of both practitioners and fellow-academics. The continuum of experience gives her insight into working with communities, as well as understanding the methodological needs for evaluating community initiatives.

She has worked recently with the Ohio Department of Education on two statewide projects.  Smarter Lunchrooms – Ohio is a statewide dissemination project to create and evaluate smarter strategies in 50 Ohio cafeterias.  Create a Classroom that Moves! integrates healthy eating messaging and activity breaks into lessons that align to select English Language Arts Common Core Standards.

Marietta completed her doctorate in health promotion and education, with a cognate in health care administration, at The Ohio State University.  She has an M.A. from Morehead State University and a B.S. from the University of Cincinnati.
