Heidi Kessler is the co-leader of the Business of School Foods Content Group. She is the Executive Director of the Smarter Lunchrooms National Office where she is responsible for disseminating research on how to increase healthy food selection and consumption to schools across the country.  Heidi helps schools build Smarter Lunchrooms that increase student selection and consumption of healthy foods.  She is a well-known trainer, speaker, and expert in environmental, policy, and system changes that support healthy eating.  Heidi is a passionate school food advocate who believes that school meals are essential in raising a healthier generation of children. Previously, Heidi helped develop and lead the nationally recognized multi-sector childhood obesity prevention program, “Let’s Go!”, based at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine.  Heidi has a Master’s of Science in Nutrition from Northeastern University and is a School Nutrition Specialist.
