Sarah is the National Project Leader for Military Families Learning Network and an Assistant Research Professor at Virginia Tech.  She provides leadership for the disciplinary teams providing content, resources and professional development for military service professionals.  In addition to her interest in connecting the resources of the Cooperative Extension System with military service professionals, Sarah's areas of expertise/interest are program development, program evaluation, social media measurement, developmental evaluation and evaluation capacity building.  She holds a Ph.D. from Virginia Tech and a B.A. from the University of Virginia.  

Sarah began her Extension career in Pima County, Arizona as a project associate working with at-risk youth.  She worked for Virginia Cooperative Extension as a 4-H Youth Development Agent and an Associate Specialist for 4-H prior to work with eXtension.  Sarah's evaluation work includes projects with the U.S. Department of Treasury, The American Camp Association, John Jay College, U.S. Army Operation Military Kids and National 4-H Council.
